Kolkata based Herbochem Remedies India Private Limited was set up two and half decades back. The company with its research and development spanning for decades has come out with a complete package of ayurvedic remedial syrup and capsules. Be it dandruff or diabetes, one will always find that the Herbochem covers almost all types of health problems.

From its manufacturing unit in Narendrapur, South 24 Parganas, on the outskirts of Kolkata city, the company has gone a long way under the able stewardship of its founding director Mr. Bhaskar Ghosh. The Narendrapur unit has been developed into state-of-the-art research center, where unparallel drugs like Memorina & Asmon are manufactured.

Herbochem manufactures a wide range of therapeutic anti inflammatory drug, anti diarrheal, cough syrup, skin care products, antacids, haempoeticies and nutritional suppliments.

The products include Livol-S available in capsules and syrup, a balanced hepatic stimulant, Hi Protene (capsule and syrup) for improving vigor and vitality, Rheumol-H (capsule and syrup) for total recovery from arthritis, spondylitis, low back pain and chronic rheumatism, Purol-H for complete eradication of vitiligo and psoriasis, Leucosol-H, effective in leucorrhoea and irregular menstruation, Seasokaf syrup combats productive and non-productive cough, Femol-H, an ideal tonic to combat anemia, Bacicure capsule and syrup, Imposil capsule and Gluconil capsule.

Recently, it has introduced "Memorina" (for memory retention) and "Gluconil" (anti diabetic). These products have earned the confidence of the market.

The company has also opened a high tech unit on the outskirts of New Delhi as a part of its expansion plans. This 6000 square meter area in New Delhi plans to house the best equipment and employ well qualified researchers in the field. The new factory would be catering to the needs of the northern states namely New Delhi, Punjub, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.

Herbochem strives for a high level of quality at all times. For this it has entered into contractual arrangement with Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (IICB), a unit of Council of Scientific Industrial Research (CSIR), Goverment of India. Scientific analyses of their products are also undertaken by arrangement with CSIR.

The result of this joint venture is "Asmon", a well-proven relief for asthama. while IICB has supplied the know-how for the medicine, Herbochem with its manufacturing and marketing the herbal drug.

A group of scientists at IICB developed "Asmon", a plant based product with plant extracts known to be used by the people over the centuries and the technology and marketing rights of this drug has been transferred to the company. The company received the drug licence for Asmon as a traditional medecine. Bronchial asthama patients of all ages can take this medecine. Based on the inhibition of Arachidonic acid oxidation by the preparation, it has been proposed as an anti-leukotriene asthma medicine.

Today Herbochem products have found a ready market in Sri Lanka. The western part of the globe already accepted the authenticity and effectiveness of Ayurveda and now Herbochem is ready to tap the lucrative market of United States of America.

The company wishes to concentrate more on the development of the products and to make its presence felt over the world. They are in constant touch with the scientist in process for commercialization of more than one medicine developed by another premier scientific research laboratory of Government of India.
